CARE4Kids Wanyange Children's Home Jinja
The CARE4Kids home is in Wanyange Lakeside Village, Jinja District, Uganda. Currently it has over 65 vulnerable and or orphaned children in the program, some of which are awaiting child sponsorship.
This children's home was build in 2007 has been established as a home for at-risk-children that focuses on the holistic needs of orphaned or vulnerable children. Orphans at risk are placed in the home while children with families are supported to keep families intact and raise their income through the Child Sponsorship Program and Micro-Development Schemes. Most of the guardians are grandmothers, single mothers or widows and they too try to earn generate income, as they care for the children. These susceptible children include orphans whose parents have died due to HIV/AIDS and other diseases, civil strife, disasters and deprivation.
Orphans have no one to protect or advocate for them and as a result, are a target for abuse, violation, trafficking, oppression, and hard labour. We focus on helping these vulnerable and helpless children find hope, care, shelter, and opportunity for a safer and brighter future.
