Volunteer Opportunities for Short-Term and Long-Term in Uganda

Our goal is to connect people with communities in need. Our aim is to get volunteers to help the local communities and partners we are working with to achieve their goals and equip them with greater sustainability. Volunteering is a great way to contribute to the global community and gain experience first hand.

There are many ways to get involved based on your willingness and skills and the specific needs of the people and communities we are supporting. You may be involved in coordinating various activities for children, youth and community groups; you may be supporting current programs and projects directly; you may be assisting with in-home care, village visitations and support work; you may be supporting staff with training seminars and conferences and, you may be assisting in medical assistance or in other skilled areas that you specialise in.

You can also play an important role in community outreach and prevention efforts, spreading awareness, and educating the community about sanitation and basic health and hygiene, first aid, as well as prevention of HIV/AIDS. The presence of volunteers also helps to break down and reduce stigma and discrimination against people affected and afflicted with HIV/AIDS. Anyone with a willingness and interest in these issues can make a meaningful contribution, and all are welcome to be involved.

As a volunteer, you encourage the local workers by working side-by-side with them and sharing in their commitment and challenges to meeting the needs of the orphans and needy communities they work with. Your presence is also inspiring to other community members involved in various programs and projects, ultimately increasing volunteer participation and success in advancing the community work.

ISAA volunteers work closely with locals to reduce poverty and accomplish sustainable development outcomes within their communities through sharing skills, knowledge exchange, and capacity building. Our volunteer places are demand driven and are based on thorough consultation with host organisations in line with their needs.
