Mission Trips and Volunteer Opportunities in Uganda

ISAA can assist you in managing your visit with accommodation, food and transport requirements for short-term and long-term options for individuals or groups. We currently have building projects, community development projects, children’s ministry, outreach ministry, medical and teaching opportunities. Uganda is a beautiful country with great National Parks, Wildlife and Rainforest Reserves, and breathtaking white water rafting on the River Nile. Uganda is in East Africa and is referred to as the Pearl of Africa by Winston Churchill. Uganda has a large number of ethnic communities, and is very culturally diverse.

We have a number of different self-funded, volunteer programs to participate in. Many of the programs are centered on children and education but we also have projects in environment and health services. Self-funding volunteers can assist in Ugandan clinics, schools, farms, etc. for short-term or long- term stints.

Experience and skills are desirable but not essential for consideration, however review and preparation training is fundamental. If you would like more information, contact the ISAA office. Weather you are available short-term or tong-term and are available to serve as part of the team with ISAU, we would love to hear from you.

What You Can Do

If you would like to get involved in short-term or long-term volunteer opportunities in community projects, we would love to hear from you and could provide you with inspiring and affordable programs.

Volunteer Opportunities for Short-Term and Long-Term in Uganda

Our goal is to connect people with communities in need. Our aim is to get volunteers to help the local communities and partners we are working with to achieve their goals and equip them with greater sustainability. Volunteering is a great way to contribute to the global community and gain experience first hand.

There are many ways to get involved based on your willingness and skills and the specific needs of the people and communities we are supporting. You may be involved in coordinating various activities for children, youth and community groups; you may be supporting current programs and projects directly; you may be assisting with in-home care, village visitations and support work; you may be supporting staff with training seminars and conferences and, you may be assisting in medical assistance or in other skilled areas that you specialise in.

You can also play an important role in community outreach and prevention efforts, spreading awareness, and educating the community about sanitation and basic health and hygiene, first aid, as well as prevention of HIV/AIDS. The presence of volunteers also helps to break down and reduce stigma and discrimination against people affected and afflicted with HIV/AIDS. Anyone with a willingness and interest in these issues can make a meaningful contribution, and all are welcome to be involved.

As a volunteer, you encourage the local workers by working side-by-side with them and sharing in their commitment and challenges to meeting the needs of the orphans and needy communities they work with. Your presence is also inspiring to other community members involved in various programs and projects, ultimately increasing volunteer participation and success in advancing the community work.

If you would like to find our more or express your interest in short-term or long-term volunteerism please contact us.
